• Water Film Prize "Back to Our Future"

  Opening on March 22, 2025, the Water Film Prize: "Back to Our Future" invites filmmakers, students, and researchers to create short films (3-5 minutes) showcasing Ancient Hydro Technologies (AHTs) as innovative solutions to modern water challenges. Organized by the Global Network of Water Museums (WAMU-NET) and Let’s Talk About Water (LTAW), winning films will premiere at the 6th International Conference of WAMU-NET in Brasilia (November 2025) and screen at major festivals, culminating at the 2027 World Water Forum in Riyadh. This initiative highlights how visual storytelling can transform complex water science into engaging narratives that inspire action.

• Special Issue on Water Management in World Heritage Sites at a Time of Climate Change– Call for Papers

  Water is the ultimate link between the local and global dimensions of World Heritage sites and between their past, present and future. But World Heritage properties are also vulnerable to water, especially in relation to the impacts and damage of the changing climate conditions that we are increasingly facing. Research and best practice examples should also address case studies that provide an insight into the water management of World Heritage sites and their adaptation to changing climatic conditions, and/or educational measures to improve knowledge and awareness of water management in World Heritage sites.

• Starting May 29th: Water Systems Design: Learning from the Past for Resilient Water Futures

  Join Water Systems Design, an Extension School course to explore the design and management of water systems through analyzing the successes and failures of water systems of the past. Bring your own case to the course and apply what you have learned to your own context to ensure the long-term resilience of water systems in the light of the challenges of climate change.
